Learn the basics of packages and how they operate

Packages are a collection of services that can be offered at a discount or at a special rate.

Packages also make it easier for booking multiple services at once. For example, rather than booking multiple treatments one after another, and then changing their price to match the 'package price', you can select the package from the booking form and all services get booked at once with the 'package price' already applied.

Because packages are a collection of services, you will need to have the services loaded before you can create a package. When you are creating the package, you can change the duration, processing time, and price of each service, but you will not be able to change the other default service properties.

Practical Example:

Imagine that you offer a consultation and an initial appointment as individual services and each costs R200. If a client wanted to book a consultation and an initial appointment, the total would come to R400.

Now imagine that you wanted to run a special where if a client booked both a consultation and an initial appointment, they would only pay R350 for both. Traditionally, you would book a consultation and then an initial appointment from the appointment calendar, go to the booking and apply the discount.

WIth packages, you can create a package called 'Consultation Combo', add the consultation and an initial appointment as services, and give the package a price of R350. When booking this combo, you can now select 'Consultation Combo' and both services automatically appear with their discounted prices.

Because packages automatically populate services with their durations and processing times, they only appear on the first service dropdown in the appointment calendar.
